Tool joint and connection handling

This course is usually carried out at the rig site, the instructor works alongside the drill crews to increase their awareness of connection handling and tubular maintenance offshore.
The training will be conducted as ‘on-the-job’ during the normal working hours and is aimed to give practical advice to both the deck and drill floor personnel involved in handling of drilling tubulars.
A secondary objective to discuss some of the design issues with senior members of the rig team (AD andupwards), such as make-up torques, dope friction factors, bending strength and stiffness ratios.
