Course Overview:

This course is primarily for rig floor personnel, drillers and tool pushers. However, any person who has aninterest in the operation of jars will benefit.

Course Content:

• Jars and Accelerators “In plain language.” The internal mechanics of the various jars are discussed and explained, enabling the crew to understand the surface readings of jar function or failure, with the aid of detailed models. This assists the rig teams to understand how to operate them with more confidence and assist in decision making when stuck. Calculations to illustrate the use of jars based on surface weight readings are worked through.
• A jarring exercise will be carried out on our drilling simulator to allow the attendee “hands on” experience of putting the jarring theory into practice.

Course Pre-Qualification: None necessary.

A certificate will be issued on satisfactory completion of the training
